We buy in cakes and breads from local bakers, much of this on a daily basis as we use freshly baked breadcakes for our home made sandwiches and sell a wide variety of freshly baked cakes each day . (A wide variety of cakes are now baked by hand in –house and are sold under the label of Monk Foodie.)

Our large daily sliced loaves now come from a local baker , and our small daily sliced loaves from Warburtons.

Some breads are baked – off in – house daily . These include our organic brown and white loaves, long parisiennes, croissants, demi-baguettes and more recently, cheese, olive and onion bloomers. We also regularly trial new hand made breads from local bakers.

Roast ham, beef and turkey are sliced to order off the bone. Bacon is sold unsmoked by the rasher, dry cured by Martin Nunns of Birkin, or smoked in packs. Our sausages are made by Starkeys of Sherburn and Rorty Crankle from Monk Fryston.

We stock regional cheeses, chorizo, prosciutto, salad tubs , local free range eggs, pates, Longley Farm dairy products, Yorkshire preserves and honey. A recent addition is organic cream and milk (alongside our regular milk).

We also now stock handmade local soups, pies, quiche and family meals, and locally produced breakfast cereals. From Feb 2019 ready meals will be made exclusively for us by Beningborough Hall Home Farm.

We offer a wide variety of cigarettes, e-cigerattes and  tobacco, as well as lighters, matches, cigars and filter papers.

A wide variety of Cadburys , Nestle and Mars chocolate. Bagged sweets, weigh-outs, ‘pocket money’ sweets, and boxed chocolates are stocked. We now hand make our own ‘Monk Foodie’ fresh cream truffles and fudges in a variety of flavours – all bagged and ribboned for gifting and treating!

Always in stock are logs  and  kindling , charcoal and coal and firelighters.

Alongside meals and veg by Walls and Birds Eye,  we also stock frozen ready meals by Starkeys of Sherburn and organic beef and pies by Monk Fryston Organics. Our own homemade Monk Foodie puddings are always in stock. Other locally produced foods are trialled regularly.
